Nehemiah Project: Rebuild, Restore , Rejoice

Nehemiah 2:17 "Then I said to them, "You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire.  Come let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem..."

The Lord called my family to Greenville Kentucky with a specific mission.  The Lord placed Nehemiah on my heart and his calling was the same as ours.  Lets come together and rebuild walls.  We do not want to build walls to separate but walls to unite families, communities and homes.  The Nehemiah project is  specifically dedicated to help those in need in Muhlenberg County.  The goal is to rebuild, restore and rejoice.

First, we want to help rebuild peoples spirits and homes.  There are thousands of children that live in unsafe and unsanitary homes and their parents have given up all hope.  They feel guilt because their children live on meals schools.  The summer time is extremely difficult for these families because they depend on one meal a day provided by local churches.   The Nehemiah project wants to rebuild these homes and rebuild these spirits.  People need hope and only hope that comes from Jesus.  A new home or renovated home will provide the hope and healing these families need to rise from poverty.  This type peace can only come from the Prince of Peace. Lets rebuild spirits, homes and faith.

Secondly, we want to help restore families to one another.  Over 80% of all arrest in Muhlenberg county are drug related.  These are effecting homes all over the county.  60% of the free and reduced lunch students in school live with only one parent due to drugs.  42% of those students do not live with either parent due to drugs.  Poverty and drug use are linked and create a cycle of dependency and need.  The restoring of families is central to ending the cycle of poverty.  The Nehemiah project desires Christian counselors that will help restore these families with the love of Jesus.  We feel called to help those recently released from jail to restore their families and restore their faith.  Through faith Jesus would heal the families and draw them closer to Him.

Lastly, we want to rejoice.  When the Lord accomplishes all He has planned for these families we want to rejoice with them in their success.  We want to rejoice in their hope and we want to rejoice in their freedom.  We ask that you pray for success of this mission as long as it is in God's will.  In the very near future we will need your assistance as short term missionaries to come and take part in the Nehemiah project especially if you feel called.  We look forward to everything God has planned.
